Coming out of Hibernation.

The air this morning reminded me of Springtime. As though, for a moment, I could feel the air blowing in through the opens windows of my childhood home in Jarvis, the smell of fresh cut grass wafting in, and Windex and Pledge as my mother began Spring-cleaning. And, I was reminded of that feeling when you can be outside with just a light sweater. Funny thing, memories.
Winter, no matter how severe or soft, always leaves me in a sort of hibernation after the holidays. No matter how hard I try, around this time of year when you start to hear the birds chirping and the animals scurrying, is when I realize that I’m starting to wake again, truly. I think we all go through this, whether it be the weather that causes it for you or another thing. Between healing our sick children, and getting sick ourselves, the winter can take a toll. Although there is snow in this week’s forecast, the blue sky is a reminder of what will come again. It reminds me I’m human after the sky has been grey for so long.
Sometimes we get caught up in the moments where it’s easier to make excuses, to worry, and to wonder if we can really accomplish what it is we’ve set out to do. But when opportunities arise to feel good, do good and be good, we should just take them and feel assured that we’ll figure the rest out as it comes. We’ve survived 100% of the winter blues, bad days and tough trials up until this point. We’re doing fine and every little thing is gonna be alright. Happy Monday.
