The Gathering: What you don't ask for, you don't get.

What you don’t ask for, you don’t get! The more I think about this sentiment, the more I question its sincerity. I think a lot of the time, we find ourselves in situations that we feel we most certainly did not ask for – good or bad.

On the flip side, I agree that this is true for helping to get us out of or through those unasked for situations, and in the times of our seeking. But nonetheless, I find myself asking. Pleading, in some cases. I think that there is power in stating what you’re looking for, what you want, what you need, even when it’s only the universe around to hear you. (Or especially.)

Some people might call it prayer, but to me it’s all within an on-going conversation that we put out to the universe. Does it always turn out the way we hope, or as easily as we hope? Of course not. But I can’t help but think, at least in reflection that it has always turned out the way it was supposed to; it’s added up in someway. Not always the prettiest of ways mind you. But lessons and life are not meant to be always pretty. There is a power though, with at least feeling like we’re trying to communicate what we need, want and hope. So we send it out, with the full intention of it being received, heard, and acknowledged.
